Simulation

James's professional life revolves around simulation modeling. This involves building models of complex systems, usually involving humans, and simulating the models on computers. James is employed as a Lead Research Scientist in the Knowledge-Based Modeling and Planning section of the Intelligent Systems Division, Advanced Information Technologies (used to be Alphatech), BAE Systems in Burlington, MA. He models organizational and social dynamics using various methodologies, including System Dynamics, discrete event simulation, agent-based modeling, as well as Bayesian Networks, and other computational methods.

This page briefly describes System Dynamics and shows an example model.

I am supporting the Newcomer Orientation Session at the System Dynamics Society 2008 Conference. If you are new to the conference and wish to receive some guidance from an experienced conference participant, check yes on the conference registration. If you have been to a few conferences, please consider giving your support to a newcomer by signing on as a guide by emailing James. Thanks!
